To celebrate the first bank holiday of 2016 (Friday March 25th –Monday March 28th ) we have put together some egg-cellent ideas, to help you make the most of your Easter weekend.
Why not pay a visit to The Duke of York Square on Saturday 26th March as the celebrated chocolate market is back in full force to cater for your Easter excess; Fitting really as the squares matriarch, Sir Hans Sloane introduced chocolate to the British isles in the 1600’s. Nowadays, the award-winning London chocolatier Hans Sloane has a selection of eggs- travagant treats to whet your Easter appetite.
It feels like spring is finally in the air and what better way to celebrate than with some fresh flowers. Jacques Flowershop has an excellent variety of seasonal blooms, and if you’re struggling for floral inspiration, an in-store florist will be able to help you put together the perfect bouquet for your Easter celebrations.
Naturally, you’ll need some Easter eggs and who better to supply them than William Curley. This Ebury Street Chocolatier has been awarded ‘Britain’s Best Chocolatier’ by the Academy of Chocolate four times as well as receiving numerous other awards. The creation of these decadent treats draws on William and Suzue’s worldwide travels and results in innovative flavors and adventurous culinary creations.
For the younger chocolatier, Rococo of Motcomb Street is running ‘design and make your own Easter egg’ workshops. Participants learn how chocolate is made; decorated and even get to take their creation home. This is followed by an Easter egg hunt in one of Belgravia’s best-kept gardens.
To cater for more exotic tastes, south of the river at Battersea Park Zoo, eggs have been hidden in and around the animal enclosures. If you manage to find all of the eggs, you'll win a prize! Visit Pet's Corner where kids can help feed the bunnies!
To top off what is ultimately going to be a calorific weekend, head to local restaurant and hotel ‘Pont Street’ to enjoy their sumptuous, traditional Easter menu of roast lamb while children can get their creative juices flowing with Easter Egg decorating and a dedicated Easter themed face painter.
We hope you enjoy your long weekend!
