As with most agents in Prime Central London, Christmas started early for us in 2014 with the market failing to really pick up after the autumn. However, always the optimists we dove head first into the New Year and sure enough exchanged on a fantastic Eaton Place apartment within the first few weeks of January.

Our hard work and determination meant further deals ensued including the sale of one of the smallest Freehold mews houses in Belgravia and a simultaneous exchange and completion of a wonderful Chelsea apartment only a week or two after it came to the market.

Our rental department has also been incredibly busy matching both tenants with properties and adding to our property portfolio. We have taken on two new instructions recently including a beautiful 1 bedroom apartment near St James’s Park moments from Victoria Station and Buckingham Palace and a superb 2 bedroom apartment in Eaton Place. Two crackers we are really ‘eggcited’ about (sorry).

However speaking to other agents in the vicinity, it appears not everyone has been quite so fortuitous as us. With the General election looming and the threat of Ed Milliband implementing a Mansion Tax on properties over £2 million, no wonder in these uncertain times that the market has gone quiet and there is little chance of things picking up or stabilizing until early May. Once the political drama has died down and a period of certainty returns, we believe the market will bounce back.
